AGAR AGAR

Agar is extracted from seaweeds of the class Rhodophyceae. It is a mixture of two polysaccharides. AGAROSE is a neutral polymer and AGAROPECTINE is a sulphate polymer. Agar Agar is yellowish white colored, practically odorless and insipid. It is produced in either powder or strip form. Agar does not require the addition of any chemical agent.

It shows higher gel strength and can be blended with other vegetable gums, carbohydrates and proteins. The unique features of Agar-Agar make it an ideal product to use in food preparations chiefly as an ingredient in desserts, microbiology, molecular biology and further more.
